For wood-burning stoves and open fires used regularly in winter, we recommend sweeping at least once a year. If you burn bituminous coal or use your fire continuously, twice a year is advised to prevent creosote buildup and dangerous chimney fires.
Please ensure your fire or stove has been extinguished for at least 12 to 24 hours prior to our visit so it is completely cool. We also ask that the area directly around the hearth is cleared of ornaments or fuel logs. We bring all required floor protection!
Yes! As a HETAS-trained sweep, we issue an official industry certificate upon completion of every job. Most home insurance policies require proof of annual sweeping in the event of a hearth or flue claim.
